Pre-Primary Dahi Handi
We at DEMS – Pre-primary, celebrated Janmasthami on 3rd September 2018 by playing Dahi Handi in school premises. Janmashtami is celebrated on account of Lord Krishna’s Birth.
It is said the Lord Krishna loved eating butter. He used to steal a little while his mother used to be preparing it.
Children came dressed as Radha or Krishna and enjoyed breaking Dahi handi followed by eating dahikala – the snacks which are usually there in the Handi (earthen pot).
To actually celebrate Lord Krishna’s taking birth, a small idol of lord Krishna was kept in a beautifully decorated swing (पाळणा) to celebrate his birth anniversary.
The premises was beautifully decorated to welcome Lord Krishna into the world. The tiny tots danced on the tunes of peppy songs of lord Krishna. The children returned home happily with the memories of Dahi Handi celebration.
Founder Director Mr. SM Katkar wished all a very happy Janmashtami. Principal Mrs. Renuka Datta, supervisor Mrs. Nandita Brahma, supervisors and all the teachers of the pre-primary section also marked their presence at the event.
