Palkhi (Dindi) Procession at DEMS
DEMS’s Little Warkaris also conveyed their tribute to Lord Vitthal by carrying out a small procession (Palkhi) around the schools premises. On their way they enthusiastically chanted hymns and sang devotional songs.
Palkhi (Dindi) Procession is carried out to worship Lord Vitthal. Devotees of Vitthal visit Pandharpur to pay their tribute every year. These Devotees are called as Warkaris.
Students get dressed in Indian traditional outfits and preach the teachings of Lord Vitthal which teach us how to respect the elders and the love and care of our parents.
Founder Director S.M. Katkar Sir, Secretary Jayesh Katkar Sir, Executive Director Pradeep Khandave Sir, Principal of DEMS Renuka Datta Madam, Supervisors, Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff accompanied the procession with enthusiasm.
